Ancient Egyptian Spiritual Belief and Its Gods

John Gordon’s fascinating talk (supported by a Powerpoint presentation) will question conventional ideas about ancient Egypt in a way that helps to reveal its true spiritual aims and ideals in a radically new light—dispelling current academic dogmas which limit it to little more than the crude materialism and corrupt superstition into which it fell long after its golden age. Who were the Gods and Goddesses of ancient Egypt? What did the ancient Egyptians actually believe? How did they think the world was created? What do their myths really mean? Is their philosophy relevant to the modern world? What lessons can we draw from their timeless wisdom?

John Gordon is an international author and lecturer who has spent many years studying ancient Egypt’s spiritual heritage. He has written four books, a fifth — on the subject of Atlantean civilisation and culture — being due for publication in spring 2008. He is president of the Blavatsky Lodge of the Theosophical Society.
