the geometry of experience
malcolm stewart
the shape of things to come wednesday 4 may 7pm There is one symbol system common to all traditions of illumination - sacred geometry. Sacred geometry reveals principles of space, nature and reason. It also reveals how that ‘alchemy' works whereby our own natural selves can find the true third eye of transcendence - the bringer wisdom and happiness. From earliest times, men used sacred geometry to establish certain structures and spaces, certain musical combinations, certain practises based on celestial cycles and symbolic forms. All of these can still help today in bringing about the opening of the ‘eye of illumination'. This talk will visually illustrate key aspects of sacred geometry. It will also show how you could apply those principles in spiritual practise, to fulfil the challenge posted above the gates of all halls of wisdom: ‘Know thyself'. Malcolm Stewart is 65. He has been a musician, priest, editor, BBC and ITV producer, refugee and aid organiser. Throughout his life, he has been a designer and artist in stained glass and other visual media. His work is installed in a mosque, a synagogue, various churches and many private homes. He has been a lecturer in the spiritual application of the classic liberal arts for many years. Admission £7.50 (£5.00 concessions)
