When people talk about the mind, they often equate it with the brain. Yet it is vastly more than this.

Why do heart transplant patients sometimes find that they take on some of the characteristics of the organ’s previous owner?
How is it that our thoughts can influence mechanical robots?

What natural laws enable us to know what is happening to a loved one on the other side of the world, or to see the future?

Our minds transcend the limits of our brain, our physical bodies, locality, present time. How this can happen is one of the greatest of all mysteries – and one of the greatest of all wonders.

We are conditioned to think that our minds are limited, that our worlds are circumscribed by the confines of a physical body – yet this is not so! Our mind is the most fantastic machine, and we can all learn to use it better.

This talk will examine some of the amazing properties of the mind, some of the little-known scientific evidence about them and will outline a theory of what the mind is and how it works based on ancient wisdom and modern investigation.

If consciousness is, as many scientists believe, the next great frontier of discovery, exploring our mind is the greatest of all adventures – and we can start now.
