Learning to Meditate

 Meditation is one of the most ancient techniques known to man, and certainly one of the most essential. Practised in different ways by cultures all over the world, the benefits of regular meditation are many and varied. The inner tranquility that meditation brings results in better health, greater insight and inspiration, improved concentration, and more confidence and energy.

Meditation focuses on now, and allows the mind to become still and at peace, bringing a sense of expanded awareness and connection to our real self.

This introductory workshop is for those with little or no experience of meditation. It is a practical workshop, where in just four hours you will learn how to focus the mind and start to achieve a sense of inner calm and stillness. Group meditation often helps students to experience the rejuvenating peace and stillness of meditation for the first time in their lives. This inspiring workshop includes:

• Step-by-step meditation  • Breathing meditation

• Mantra meditation

• Candle meditation

• Determining the best place to meditate

• Meditation and healing for yourself and others • Spiritual cleansing and protection

• Guidance on continuing your practise

Vivien is the Centre’s Educational Co-ordinator and has practised different forms of meditation for many years. She specialises in teaching ways to get the very best from our innate mental and intuitive faculties.
