sound for healing, meditation and more

"After five minutes ... I was hooked. Not only did I feel deeply relaxed, but my hands felt on fire, red hot and full of energy. At one point, it actually felt as though my body were being lifted off the ground by the sheer force of these great waves of sound, and afterwards I felt I could run a mile." The Sunday Times, 10 August 1997

These words were written about Aidan's teacher and friend, Don Conreaux, who was originally due to give this workshop with Aidan. We are sorry to say that a family emergency prevents Don leaving the States. However, Aidan is an accomplished gong player and singing bowl teacher, in his own right, with 14 years experience in the field of sound therapy. He gives frequent concerts worldwide.

The primordial resonance of the gong has tremendous power for healing and upliftment and spiritual awakening, and today is an opportunity to study it with a leading exponent.

Tibetan monks and the Chinese have been using gongs to aid meditation for centuries. You don't even need to be able to hear: even the deaf benefit from the gong, as its powerful vibrations transcend the power of physical hearing.

Today you will experience the in-depth healing power of a gong bath, and learn techniques for emotional stress release, chakra alignment, and yoga breath exercise. In this hands-on workshop you will learn the skill of a healing tone artist using the bronze gong, singing bowl, sacred blowing conch, and acquaint yourself with the gong's esoteric and mystical origins as well as present day applications.

Aidan's adventure with sound began in 1993 when he met gongmaster Don Conreaux, and experienced the healing power of sound for the first time.  He went on to become Don's musical assistant and continues to travel and work with him. He also runs workshops on both the gong and singing bowls in the UK, Poland and the USA.

Aidan has worked with autistic children, and gives individual therapy sessions using singing bowls, gongs and other instruments. He performs each year at the Festival for Mind Body Spirit and his CD Quintessence is available by mail order. www.gongmagic.com
